Louise Bennett OBE DL, Founding Director, One Midlands
Louise is the Chair of the West Midlands International Trade LLP, an organisation which brings together all six Chambers of Commerce, across the West Midlands, and one which has its regional office based in Birmingham.
She is also the Chief Executive of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce – a post she has held since February 2003.
Louise has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Business; a Masters in Business; is a qualified Human Resource practitioner and a qualified Psychotherapist. Her career has spanned both the private and public sectors including the NHS and retail. She has undertaken lecturing on Masters in Business Administration and has run her own small business.
For 5 years until 2014 she served as a volunteer counsellor for hundreds of clients on issues around bereavement, grief and trauma and with a strong commitment to young people she has voluntarily served on School Boards of Governors, College Boards and a University Board. As an approved Foster Carer, Louise and her family welcome young people into their home with the aim of providing a safe environment, warmth, support and a real commitment to raising their aspirations in life.
In 2007, Louise was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list for her services to business.
In 2014, Louise was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands – a role which seeks to support the Lord Lieutenant of the West Midlands.
Louise is a founding Director of One Midlands which brings together EMB and WMIT LLP in a single entity designed to meet the Midlands Engine agenda for growth.
